For Wallara clients and families

Dear families and friends,
I want to share some exciting news about how Wallara is growing to create more opportunities for the people we support, and new ways for you to be involved too.
More confidence and skills through media
Wallara’s media team is all about helping people find their voice and building new skills. Every year, around 50 clients take part in our media programs – learning video, podcasting and presenting.
Some of these stories are shared through Wallara TV, our YouTube channel and the Invis-ability podcast. Others are now being heard live on the radio. A local station, 98.7FM, broadcasts from Sages Cottage Farm in Baxter once a month – and several Wallara clients now have regular spots on air. They love it.
Another radio station, Casey Radio, will soon move into Wallara Logistics at 160 Bridge Rd, Dandenong. This means even more media opportunities for Wallara clients.
And in September, our media team will move into a new creative workspace at the soon-to-open Hub@Sages. This new space is fully accessible and specially designed for creativity, learning and paid work. We’ll also be offering more paid media roles to clients – a big step forward.
A warm welcome to new clients
This year, we’ve welcomed 82 new clients into Wallara. It’s wonderful to see so many new people choosing to explore, grow and connect with us.
Coming soon: The Hub@Sages and a beautiful new garden
In November or December, we’ll celebrate the official opening of the Hub@Sages. This amazing new building has been made possible through generous donations from people who believe in what we do.
At the same time, we’ll open a new sensory garden at Sages – featuring more than 100 peony roses donated by a local grower. The roses will be cared for by clients and sold through the Farmgate shop at Sages, creating hands-on learning and work opportunities.
We’ll be inviting families to visit the garden, explore the new Hub, and see firsthand how these spaces are supporting our clients.
