Why your voice matters
The Australian Government is considering major changes to supported employment, including closing segregated workplaces and increasing wages. These ideas came from the Disability Royal Commission. Now it’s your chance to have a say before any final decisions are made.
This survey is for supported employees, their families, carers and advocates. Your feedback will help Our Voice Australia (OVA) prepare a report that truly reflects what matters to you.
What the Disability Royal Commission recommended
- Everyone should be paid at least half the minimum wage — no more sub-minimum rates.
- Segregated workplaces (Australian Disability Enterprises or ADEs) should be phased out by 2034.
- People with disability should have more access to open, inclusive employment options.
These changes would affect many people and workplaces. That’s why it’s so important to make sure your voice is heard.
