What’s changing and when
The NDIS introduced a new structure for all plans on 19 May 2025. The changes include:
- Funding Periods
- Funds will now be released every three months
- A one-year plan will have four funding periods
- A two-year plan will have eight
- Rollover rules
- Any unspent funds within a quarter will roll over to the next period
- Any remaining funds at the end of the plan will not carry into the next plan
- Home and living funding
- This will now be distributed monthly instead of quarterly
Why these changes matter
These changes are designed to give families more structure and predictability, while supporting consistent plan use across the year.
