Safeguarding Practices
Strong safeguarding helps keep everyone safe
Keeping people safe is a core part of the Wallara way. We rely on natural supports, caring and well-trained staff and clear reliable systems to make sure every person feels safe, respected and supported in our services. Safeguarding is built into everything we do. This includes:
- Training all staff in rights-based practice and client protection
- Supporting you to understand your rights
- Using restrictive practices only when necessary, and only under strict guidelines
- Encouraging families, advocates and supporters to speak up when needed
- Wallara has a well-established Human Rights and Safeguarding Framework and meets all
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Victorian safeguarding standards and requirements.
Privacy and Support
Your voice matters. When you speak up, Wallara promises to:
- Respect your privacy / you can remain anonymous
- All conversations will remain confidential
- Support you to have someone with you if you want
- Explain what will happen next
- Act fairly and respond as quickly as possible
- Use feedback to improve services and supports
- You can request Easy Read or translated support
