Student placements are a key pathway into a career with Wallara – it’s a chance to build confidence, gain experience and explore where your career could take you.
Each year, we partner with TAFEs, RTOs and universities to provide students with practical, real-world experience across our diverse services. You’ll learn from experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful work and be supported every step of the way.

Student placements FAQ's
We welcome placement students from:
- Certificate III, IV and Diploma programs (including Individualised Support, Mental Health, Community Services)
- Advanced Diploma students
- University (community engagement placements, social work, allied health)
We work with you and your education provider to meet your placement requirements.
- Placement length and hours are flexible
- Schedules are designed to align with course needs and availability
- We aim to make placements achievable, supportive and meaningful
During your placement, you can expect:
- Supervision and mentoring from experienced staff
- On the job experience and exposure
- Opportunities to rotate across different teams for broader exposure
- Inclusive, welcoming and supportive workplaces
- Insight into real career pathways at Wallara
For some roles, placements may lead to employment opportunities after graduation and help build strong sector connections and partnerships.
For university students, placements also help us build and maintain wider partnerships, such as our ongoing collaborations with Monash University.
Wallara has hosted up to 50 placement students in a single year
- We typically support 20-30 students annually
- Placements are available across multiple divisions, giving you a broad view of how we work
