Casey Radio Hits the Airwaves
Wednesday lunchtime means it’s time to get behind the microphones for Riki, James, Eddie and Ryan.
The Hey Hey It’s Wallara team broadcasts live on Casey Radio 97.7FM every Wednesday from 11am–1pm.
The radio show is part of the Wallara’s Learning & Lifestyle Media and Screen day programs, where clients interested in media can get involved in radio, video, interviews and storytelling.
Now the team has a brand new radio studio to broadcast from — right at Wallara’s Head Office in Keysborough.
A new home for Hey Hey It’s Wallara
Casey Radio officially opened its new Keysborough studio at Wallara on 12 August, bringing community radio into a bright, active space where the Hey Hey It’s Wallara team can be part of the action each week.
For Riki, James, Eddie and Ryan, there’s plenty to do before the microphones go live each week. With their coach, they build playlists, plan guests, prepare interviews and learn how to use the studio desk. Then, when the red light comes on, the team runs the show.
Learning by doing
The Media and Screen day programs are about getting involved. The Casey Radio program gives clients the chance to try different roles, explore their interests and learn how a live program comes together. There are conversations with guests, music to choose, equipment to learn and stories to share.
It’s social, creative and hands-on — learning new skills by stepping into roles.
Casey Radio at Wallara
Casey Radio has been broadcasting across Melbourne’s south-east since 1991, with music, talk, sport and programs reflecting the many communities across the region.
Having the station based at Wallara creates more opportunities for clients interested in media to meet people, share stories and spend time doing something they enjoy.
Tune in to Hey Hey It’s Wallara on Casey Radio 97.7FM every Wednesday from 11am–1pm.
