A supported stay away from home

Stay in a welcoming home for a night, a weekend or longer, with support shaped around your interests, routines and goals.

During your stay you might:

  • Spend time with others, and get to know your Support Coaches.
  • Try new activities and explore the local community.
  • Cook meals, relax and enjoy everyday life together.
  • Spend time away from home in a comfortable, welcoming place.
  • Explore different living options, if that’s part of your goals.

Who is Short-Term Accommodation For?

A short stay can suit different goals

A Short-Term Accommodation stay could suit you if you’d like to:

  • Take a break and enjoy a change of scenery.
  • Meet new people and try different activities.
  • Spend some time away from home with support around you.
  • Practise everyday routines and explore what living more independently could look like.
  • Explore different living options, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), if that’s part of your goals.

Short-Term Accommodation is available to adults aged 18+. Talk to the Accommodation Team about your needs, funding and whether a stay could be right for you.

Using your NDIS funding for Short-Term Accommodation

Your NDIS plan may help fund your stay

Short-Term Accommodation (STA) may be funded through your NDIS plan, depending on your individual support needs and funding.

Funding may cover support and accommodation during an eligible short stay.
