Wacky Wednesday: the podcast crew

Learning & Lifestyle Seaford

Three microphones, one big idea

Every Wednesday at Learning & Lifestyle Seaford’s Healthy Futures Hub, something a little different is happening. Jonathan, Ben and Andrei settle in, set up their microphones and hit record on Wacky Wednesday — their weekly podcast, on Spotify.

The podcasting day program, the show is theirs, supported by their media coach, Nick. They choose the topics, book the guests and deliver their footy tips with the confidence of seasoned broadcasters.

What goes into making a podcast

The program is part of Learning and Lifestyle’s Media & Screen stream, where clients build practical skills in content development, storytelling, voice and audience engagement — and Wacky Wednesday puts all of that into practice every week.

Behind the fun is a lot of genuine skill-building. Each week they work through topic research, interview preparation amd audio editing.

“Podcasting is fun because we learn editing, thinking about topics, and how to use a microphone,” says Jonathan.

For Ben, it’s about something even bigger than the technical side.

“My favourite part is sharing the knowledge I’ve built up about podcasting,” he says.

Making guests feel welcome

Andrei brings his own particular gift to the microphone. “My favourite thing is talking into the microphone and interviewing people and making them feel welcome. I really enjoy finding out more about other people,” he says.

That warmth comes through in every episode. Guests from the Healthy Futures Hub have already taken a seat at the Wacky Wednesday table, with more conversations in the pipeline.

Tune in

The crew put it best themselves: “We love making our Wacky Wednesday weekly podcast together. We discuss different topics each week, interview people from the Healthy Futures Hub, and give our footy tips. Tune in on Spotify!”
