Suburban Connect’s Community Crew, proudly employed through Wallara’s Land Management Services team, has reached 500 jobs.
Suburban Connect and SRL East brought people together for an awards event to recognise both the milestone and the impact the crew is having in local communities. Wallara CEO Phil Hayes-Brown and Senior Manager LMS David Fraser were there on the day.
The six team members have become a trusted presence in communities around the SRL East construction zone.
“The team’s pride, professionalism and care shine through in every job,” said Erin Dale, Director of Engagement, SRLA.
Residents are calling in to say thank you. Businesses are asking when the crew will return. It’s not something you expect, but it keeps happening.
A neighbour from Kingston Road said he was over the moon with the work and couldn’t speak more highly of the crew.

Across Clayton, Heatherton and Cheltenham, the crew is helping Suburban Connect service the community, making spaces more welcoming.
Windows are cleaned with care. Cars are washed by hand. Gardens are maintained. Shopfronts feel ready again.
But more than the tasks, it is the crew and how they go about the work.
“They were so great with their detail and they were so kind,” said Shannon from Clayton. “I really appreciate their hard work.”
